Parent Involvement

Parents can play many roles in sport: current or former athlete, coach, fan, motivator, role model or critic. A few studies have shown that family members may influence an athlete’s involvement and achievement in sport more than coaches. Parents also are the first and most critical agents at socializing sports.

  • Every season the Board and Coaches choose one community service project for the club to participate in. Participation in the community service project is MANDATORY and often includes the Player and a Parent/Guardian.  Information will  be distributed once a decision is made.
  • Players and Parents are REQUIRED to participate in no more than 2 CLUB fundraisers per season.  The Board and Coaches will decide on the fundraiser.  The profit from the CLUB fundraisers will go directly to the club and not the individual Player.  The profit is used to offset facility fees, equipment costs, continuing education for the Coaching staff and other miscellaneous expenses.  Information on the CLUB fundraiser will be distributed once a decision is made.

Preparing Your Player

Each team has a limited amount of gym time.  Our Coaches are all volunteers who give up their time to teach your Player. It is imperative that your Player come prepared and FOCUSED on practice. Please stress the importance of coming to practice and giving 100%!

  • Players are to be dressed comfortably for practice.
  • Clothing with buttons or zippers are NOT allowed for the safety of the Player. - NO JEANS SHORTS OR PANTS!
  • Shirts should completely cover the Player's midsection. NO cut shirts allowed.
  • Shorts must completely cover the Player's buttocks.
  • Clothing with profanity or displaying any illegal activity is NOT allowed.
  • Gym shoes are required to ensure that Players are not sliding on the court.
  • Knee pads are recommended - not required.
  • Ankle braces are recommended for front row Players (13u - 18u)
  • Long hair should be up and back so it is not in the Player's face. Hair should be secured so that the Player is not distracted during practice/games with trying to put their hair up.
  • No jewelry allowed during practices or games.
  • No gum chewing allowed during practices or games.
  • Players are not allowed to touch their phones during practice. If you have an emergency, please contact your Player's Coach.

Coaches have a right to contact Parents should any of the items listed above be a concern.

Our Sports Engine App

Our app is used for communication between Parents and Coaches.

PLEASE get familiar with our SE app as this saves our Coaches time with communicating to the entire team.

** Few Tips **

CHAT - this is basically a group text message. Do not comment "sensitive" information in the chat.  Chat should be used for basic communication or questions for the entire team and coaches.

MESSAGE - using this feature will send a message to the coaches and main club email.  This information is not shared with the entire team.

SCHEDULER - use the scheduler to mark your Player YES - they will be attending practice or NO - they will not be attending practice.  If you mark NO or MAYBE, you should see 3 vertical dots, click on the vertical dots, then click on ADD NOTE.  Document the reason for your Player not attending.  Notes are only visible to the Coaches and Team Mom's that are assigned to each Team.

PLEASE get familiar with marking your Player's attendance as this helps the Coaches with planning out their practice plan.  Another big reason for marking your Player's attendance is safety.  If your Player is marked YES and they don't show up and there's no notification from the Parent, this is a reason for us to be concerned and check on the Players whereabouts.  Upon practice check in, the Team Moms and Coaches are now using the scheduler to mark who has checked in and their temp. If you're concerned of your Player's attendance you can check the scheduler.  Parents can see only their Player's temp or notes documented by the Team Moms or Coaches.

PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES

If your Player will be missing practice, Parent notification is REQUIRED.
Do not have your Player text or call.  PARENT notification is REQUIRED.
Use the Club's Sports Engine app to send a message to your Coach.

Be sure your Player is on time to practice.
Coaches are responsible for Players, 15 minutes before the start of practice and 15 minutes after practice.
Please be sure to be on time to pick up your Player!

Our 2022-2023 Program Book is currently being worked on and will be available shortly.
